Pupil Leadership

Learner Council

Our Learner Council gives learners a voice and an active role in shaping life at Alkerden C of E Academy. Each term, learners can apply to join the council by sharing their ideas and values through nomination speeches, demonstrating their commitment to representing their peers and contributing positively to the school community.

This year, our pioneer Learner Council has already been hard at work. Members have met with school governors to share their views on our school ethos, worked with Aspens to give feedback on the meals and snacks served in The Ark, and begun planning exciting fundraising opportunities for 2026.

The Learner Council plays an important role in promoting responsibility, teamwork and leadership, helping to ensure that learners’ voices are heard and valued across the school. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and impact.

Our council representatives are as follows:

7H 7E 7A 7R 7T
Isabel, Betsy and Eliah Eva, Vienna Nate, Isabella, Uwa Audrey, Tharuj, Annabelle, Masimba Nora

Leading Lights

Our Leading Lights are learners nominated by each form group to act as ambassadors for Alkerden’s Christian ethos. They model our values in everyday behaviour and help create a caring, inclusive school community.

Leading Lights supports collective worship by contributing ideas, readings and reflections, and assisting in planning and leading special services and events throughout the year. They promote kindness, respect and service within the school, encourage others to live out our vision, and may take part in outreach or charitable projects.

Above all, our Leading Lights help ensure that Alkerden’s Christian character shines through in our actions, relationships and daily life. We are proud of their dedication, leadership and positive impact across the school.

Our Leading Lights representatives are as follows:

7H 7E 7A 7R 7T

Trust Student Voice

At Aletheia Academies Trust, we all understand the importance of getting all pupils involved in the direction of the schools and how students can be an instrument to affect positive change in our school communities. Bi-termly, a number of school councils from each school get together to discuss what individual schools have done recently, to plan what they want to achieve in Student Voice for next year and ways to ensure the group is feeding into the Trust to have an impact on the overall development.
