Welcome to Alkerden Nursery

Starting nursery is a big step for both children and families, and we want to make the process as simple and welcoming as possible.

At Alkerden Church of England Academy Nursery, we provide a nurturing environment where children can begin their learning journey, build friendships and develop their confidence as they prepare for school.

Open Days

Choosing a nursery is an important decision, and we would love to welcome you to Alkerden.

Our nursery open days are an opportunity to explore our setting, see our learning environment and find out more about what we offer. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about starting nursery.

• Tuesday 6^th October 2026 (09:30-10:30)

• Friday 9^th October 2026 (13:30-14:30)

• Wednesday 25^th November 2026 (13:30-14:30)

Nursery Places

Our nursery welcomes children from around their third birthday. Places are offered as close as possible to the term following a child's third birthday, subject to availability and our admissions criteria.

We operate Monday to Friday, during term time, with our funded 30-hour Extended Entitlement places running from 09:00 - 15:00 each day.

Places are limited and are allocated in line with our Nursery Admissions Policy. Being entitled to funded early education does not guarantee a place at a particular nursery or a particular pattern of provision.

Applying for a Place and Waiting Lists

Families can register their interest and join our nursery waiting list. Places for the main September intake are usually offered during the Spring Term preceding the start of the academic year.

If places become available at other times of the year, families may be contacted by email or telephone, followed by written confirmation.
